Children

Also for children there is a lot to do and to see in our beautiful region:

Castles and Museums
Castles have a great impact on the imagination of even the very young children. The impressive medieval castle at Angers or the nearby fairy tale castle of Le Plessis Bourré (although in fact a defensive castle) are a great delight for every child.
Many castles and museums (for instance: the Museum of the Wine) offer special programs for children (LeRoiEnfant).

Adventure Parks
A grand French theme Park near Cholet, but also the simple delights of a small Adventure Park in the gardens of a nearby Château.

Animal farms
A number of animal farms with the possibility of walks and picnics and little trains.

Great Zoos
A magnificent Zoo in La Flêche with daily shows and beautiful shaded gardens.
A remarkable Zoo, partly underground in caves, near Saumur.

Playgrounds
Along the rivers or lakes with sandy beaches. Small playgrounds in many villages. In the beautiful 17th century Jardin du Mail of Angers an old fashioned turn mill and pony rides.

Swimming pool
The swimming pool of the nearby village has been proclaimed by 6-year old Emma as being  “the best swimming pool of the world”.

Boat trips
Many lovely guided boat trips are offered on the various rivers.
