Estate

The Outbuildings

The beautiful and vast outbuildings reflect the past times in which the estate was completely self-supporting.
With a stable for the cows and a cool room for the daily fresh diary. The luxurious écuries for the much beloved horses. A spacious tack-room and several houses for carriages.
The old bakery still stands with the original oven—this was also the place where the linen was washed in the huge granite basins. The old winery, with the presses for grapes and for cider and its caves. The three independent houses for the gatekeeper and the families that worked on the estate.

Nearby, another group of small, lovely decorated buildings: a large poultry for hens and geese and ducks, kennels for the hunting dogs, and cool stables for the pigs around a cobbled courtyard. Down the hill the round walls provide sheltering stables for sheep. Further away a stable for the goats, tucked away against the high walls.
